About

Ardagh Heritage Centre has become available to the wider community to use as a space to hold meetings, events and activities.

Housed in the old National School, built in 1896, it is a typical late nineteenth century national school building, similar to many found in villages across Ireland. Situated to the end of Ardagh Heritage Village, the garden contains many specimen trees, planted by the numerous visitors to the village, including, Michael D Higgins, members of the Farrell clan and An Taoiseach Charles Haughey, and the walls secrete entrances to Ardagh Neighbourhood Park.

Inside Ardagh Heritage Centre are ample room spaces for meetings and groups with potential kitchen facilities. Featuring the historical stories of Ardagh and the community living within as well as the myths and legends of Midir and Étáin, and the mountain walk of Brí Leith.

The Steering Group is welcoming expressions of interest for potential use of the community space and would be delighted to read your submissions. Please follow this link to complete an Expression of Interest form:

Please see our constitution for further information on suggested activities for the centre.
